All-in-one home buying experience. Bungalo makes the complicated process of buying a home not so complicated anymore.
The Product
Bungalo is a direct to consumer real estate brand. Bungalo homes are fully renovated, updated with modern finishes and backed by a 1 year warranty. The traditional experience of buying a home is confusing and stressful at every turn. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Bungalo's technology for buying their homes aims to make every step of the home buying experience as smooth and straightforward as it should be.
Problem
Prior to the mobile app buyers and agents had to call in and a customer service or sales team member manually generated that door access code for them. Our primary goal for the app was to improve sales efficiency and customer experience by providing users self-serve home tour access via the mobile app. This significantly freed up the sales team to focus on supporting buyers in a later stage of the buying journey.
Amherst risk in launching Bungalo Homes was significant: not only were they paying for the creation of a sizeable e-commerce web application, they were also investing in the inventory for that application. Bungalo Homes would shoulder the risk of acquiring, refurbishing and brokering the homes to be sold on the platform. The success of the digital home-buying idea depended on perfect execution of the app. If their product development partner failed to come through on technology, Bungalo Homes would have to suffer the loss and start over.
Objective
Design an experience that:
Builds trust in a fully digital purchase process
Provides end-to-end clarity on steps, costs, and timelines
Enables smooth transitions between discovery, decision-making, and offer submission
Minimizes cognitive load for first-time buyers
My Role
Lead UX Designer
Collaborated closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Customer Experience. Responsible for end-to-end experience strategy, wireframes, prototyping, and user testing.
